Scattered along the Faroese roads are many grass-roofed houses.
These started life as a pragmatic solution for dwellings, but have since become a symbol for the islands.
Houses have been built like this for more than a thousand years, providing protection from rain and thermal insulation.

His tiny cries and grimacing face underscore a deep, guttural pain lurking within the fallen state of the world. There is a grinding frustration with how life falls miserably short of our desires and longings. And yet, we are not left to wallow in hopeless grief. All of Creation points us to the Cross, and within its shadow, that very real sense of pain, disappointment, and grief in this life has been reversed through the Gospel and will be enjoyed—fully and forever—in the age to come. After all, the heart of what it means to grieve with hope is to grieve with a sense of confidence that God’s resurrection promises are really true. The Gospel is a hope that God will never leave us empty-handed. Never. It is in knowing this hope, we - along with all other believers - can wait, endure, and persevere. And not just wait, but wait with joyful expectation. 😌 #HeIsRisen#Easter
