111. home. at some point in the last three years, brooklyn quietly worked its way into my heart and became home. i can't point to any particular moment when it shifted, but i used to easily think of hawaii as home. and while the islands are always going to be a grounding space for me, i am missing my brooklyn home pretty aggressively right now.
i took this picture this morning before my flight back to hawaii (an impromptu trip to help support my family). and now i am typing this while sitting in mililani, trying to process the fact that i was home this morning and am now in the middle of the pacific.
how was everybody's easter 🥚🐣🐥 these days ive been practicing different types of buttercream flowers, including these lovely hydrangea ones. and guess what ?? they were all done using only one tip !! here, i used the wilton #352 leaf tip to pipe on both the leaves and the individual petals of the flower. i find that using this method rather than the closed star tip one that so many cake decorators recommend actually achieves a more realistic and detailed result. these guys are definitely easier than they look, and since hydrangeas come in so many different colors, they are also very forgiving as well :-) pls give them a try and if u want to see me do any other types of flowers next be sure to comment below ⬇️ ((this post is not sponsored by @wiltoncakes but i mean my dms are always open for ya if yall wanna (^;))
