I stood at the gates of Tunganath, wondering what to do next. The climb upto Tunganath took me 2 hours and it was only 8 in the morning.
As I wandered about, I saw a group of men coming down a narrow path behind one of the temples on the side.
I asked them where they were coming from and told me that they started trekking upto Chandrasila but the snow made it almost impossible to reach the summit. The snow was melting and at the same time, it was hailing. They pointed to the summit of the mountain where I saw flags fluttering in among the clouds.
I stood at the path, confused. The curiosity and adventure was killing me while the thought of slipping on the ice and falling into the canyon held me back.
Suddenly, a dog came sniffing upto me and started brushing about my legs.
"Looks like she likes you." Said a guy who was sitting with two other guys who were passing each other two joints.
"Her name is Badri and she's been with us from the start of the trek." He said as he took a long drag.
"Kya mast drag liya bhai!" exclaimed one of his friends, while he coighed on the half drag he took.
"You know what?" said the first guy who introduced himself as Parvez. "I don't care what those guys said about it getting to the peak. I did IT for 4 years and today, I want to die!" he shouted as he got up.
His friends got up with equal gusto.
"What better way to scale a slippery icy slope than with three dudes who are sky high?" I said to myself as Badri jumped into the snow covered path, turning to look at us, telling us that she is leading the way.
