Other paddleboarding related news. I have spaces still on two SUP weekend trips I'm running this year.
1. SUP with soul in The Netherlands. 1-4 August. Three jam-packed days of SUP adventures, yoga in the eves and beach time. All 40 mins from centre of Amsterdam.
2. SUP with soul in Sardinia. 9-13 October. Paddle rivers, to private beaches, drink Italian wine and eat Italian food. All inclusive retreat and spaces going quick!

A few foiling tips from the legend @paddlewithriggs himself! 🌊 🌊 🌊
Downwind foiling takes a lot of pop up practice! I got a few clips from my friends @kshipmaui and Randy Royse to help give you an idea of what I’m doing to get lifted. First thing is getting into a surf stance. Next I look for a nice downhill slope to start the lift off. Once I find a good slope I plant my paddle and try to thrust the board forward and down the slope with the balls of my feet. As I’m doing this I try to keep from sinking the nose of the board. If the nose stays on the surface and pops back up I start to slide my feet back about a half inch with each stroke thrusting the board forward each time. Sometimes you have to turn as you do this to stay on the best part of the slope.
It’s a huge effort to learn but the glide and speed is amazing once you’re up. I’ll keep practicing and if I find an easier way I’ll let you know. Have fun! Hope this helps some of you get lifted.
